We are seeking a talented full-time Account Manager to join the Sales and Marketing team. This role will report to the Senior Account Manager within the team.

Purpose of an Account Manager

The Account Manager will lead the day-to-day communications and smooth running of this department, which is specifically dedicated to all business with our Top 30 pharmaceutical company clients.

They will target and acquire new projects with pharmaceutical clients, utilising knowledge from past work, as well as pharmaceutical trends/news. Account Managers will additionally focus on maintaining current relationships with key clients. They are the main point of contact for their clients.


Responsibilities of an Account Manager

  • Understands the market, our business, products, and our customer proposition
  • Researches, identifies, and qualifies leads and contacts that fit our customer profile
  • Builds relationships with new and existing pharmaceutical clients for potential projects
  • Confidently presents capabilities presentation to new and existing clients on a regular basis
  • Proposal development for potential new projects
  • Independently handles RFI/RFP presentation preparation
  • Facilitating internal discussions on projects, tailoring offerings to clients’ needs with the help of wider teams
  • Utilising past project knowledge to input into future calls and pitches
  • Provides support on kick-off and existing project calls
  • Negotiates project terms with the help of senior team members
  • Proactively responds to campaign & medical marketing news
  • Maintains account mapping by brand/product
  • Management of key databases and initiatives (CRM Salesforce and GoogleDocs)
  • Effectively communicates sideways and upwards to relevant team members throughout the whole company
  • Assesses the wider sales & marketing strategy with the help of the AD
  • Take the initiative in updating team members on changes in the market/clients
  • Acts as a mentor/line manager for AE/SAE where necessary


Essential skills or qualifications

  • Candidates must have a life sciences BSc and/or MSc with a desire to develop their careers in medical communications
  • Demonstrable experience at another medical communications agency at SAE or AM level or experience within the pharmaceutical industry in a client-facing role Strong desire to develop their career in business development and account handling, with a commercially driven mindset
  • Strong communicator both written and verbally
  • Is comfortable with presenting over Teams and in person
  • Has excellent organizational and time management skills, and can manage workload effectively
  • A high standard of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficient at Microsoft Suite


Desirable skills or qualifications

  • Previous experience with a CRM platform i.e. Salesforce
  • Previous experience using InDesign and/or PowerPoint to make presentations
  • An interest and/or experience in B2B sales & marketing
  • Ability to be solution driven

Working hours

Our standard working hours are Monday – Friday 10:00 – 18:00 (35 hours per week plus one-hour unpaid lunch break per day). Unless otherwise specified, these will be the contracted hours for the role.
