About the job
Random42 is looking for an enthusiastic web developer with a solid understanding of web technologies and programming fundamentals to join our team and help us build interactive websites and web-based applications. Our work is frontend-based, mainly consisting of single-page web applications with the occasional static multi-page website, using the React framework.
We place a strong focus on visual impact, user interaction and intuitive yet effective presentation of scientific content and concepts, working closely with our science department.
As many of our web-based experiences integrate real-time 3D elements, experience with the Three.js 3D JavaScript library and/or knowledge of real-time computer graphics concepts is a huge plus for the position.
Essential requirements
- Demonstrable experience in web development using HTML, CSS, modern JavaScript (ES6), package management (NPM) & dependencies bundling (e.g. Vite)
- Being able to write and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
- Knowledge of Git version control
Great to have
- Experience using React / JSX / NextJS
- Experience using SASS or other styling pre-processors
Bonus points
- Experience using Three.js
- Cross-platform development using Capacitor / Electron / Cordova
- GLSL shading language and shaders development for WebGL
- 2D graphics libraries such as Pixi, D3
