WIRED Health 2017

16th February 2017 Company News Events & Exhibitions

We are extremely excited to announce that we will be exhibiting at WIRED Health 2017! The annual healthcare conference brings together the leading technologists, entrepreneurs and innovators currently shaping the health industry. This year’s event will be held on the 9th of March and will showcase the most exciting innovations in healthcare, with a focus on challenging the industry to transform.

We will be exhibiting our innovative technologies in Medical AnimationVirtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality

3D model of cancer cell designed by Random42

The use of Virtual Reality (VR) has enabled our scientific storytelling to be elevated to a whole new level. We are now able to take people into our 3D film sets and take them on a ride inside the human body. Users feel like they are actually in the scene watching red blood cells float alongside them or following a signalling pathway into the nucleus. We will be presenting this storytelling format, which, combined with state-of-the-art technology, gives the user a detailed understanding of specific biological processes. The rich stimulating imagery promotes deeper engagement and helps to reinforce the scientific story.

Augmented reality mannequin designed by Random42

Augmented Reality (AR) involves your real world environment being supplemented with interactive digital overlays, in real-time. Random42’s AR apps use visual recognition technology, where users simply point their smart device at a tracker which then activates an interactive experience such as animations, holograms, 3D models and games. At WIRED Health 2017 we will be showcasing our AR technology, originally developed for Wyss Centre, involving bionic mannequins that reveal hidden neurotech. The user is able to uncover a projection of implantable technologies, with clickable labels to provide more in-depth information.

Mixed reality experience designed by Random42

Mixed Reality (MR) is the merging of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments and visualisations where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real time. With Microsoft Hololens, your physical and virtual worlds merge together in a mixed reality. Hololens allows you to naturally move, interact, and explore three dimensional virtual holograms around you. Random42’s scientific knowledge and experience, combined with this new state-of-the-art technology is able to give life to unique interactive applications. These customised holographic demos showcase how we can create new experiences in the world of medical animation.
