About the Role

The ideal candidate for this role would be a university student looking to pursue a career in medical communications, sales, marketing, or business development.

The role requires excellent organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, strong initiative, and the ability to assimilate knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing and medical communications.

We work with the world’s leading healthcare and pharmaceutical companies, so a passion for science and a strong academic background is preferred.

 

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day support to the Sales & Marketing team, across pharma, biotech, and adjacent markets.

Lead Generation process:

  • Understand the market, our business (including products), and our customer proposition.
  • Execute Search Strategy using LinkedIn to identify new contacts/key stakeholders within the pharma, biotech, consumer health, device and diagnostic and animal health industries.

Sales Process:

  • Attending capabilities calls. Take and distribute meeting notes.
  • Supporting account leads with the preparation of competitive proposals for new business.
  • Sourcing past work in relevant therapeutic areas to share with prospective and existing clients.

Client and market data:

  • Management of key databases and initiatives (CRM Salesforce and Google Docs), ensuring records are structured appropriately, contain all accurate and relevant information, and data quality is maintained.
  • Maintain data on prospect and customer lists.
  • Develop and maintain account mapping and R&D pipelines for current clients and targets.
  • Provide daily updates to team members on changes in the market or to clients.

Communications:

  • Support the generation of key content that aligns with our overall marketing strategies, such, as news articles and blogs.

 

Essential skills or qualifications

Previous experience is not required, as training will be provided on the job. However, candidates will be studying for a life sciences BSc and/or MSc with a strong desire to develop their career in marketing and communications.

  • A high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong communicator both verbally and in writing.
  • Computer literate.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills.
  • Showing willingness and pro-activity to drive new business.

Working hours

Our standard working hours are Monday – Friday 10:00 – 18:00 (35 hours per week plus one-hour unpaid lunch break per day). Unless otherwise specified, these will be the contracted hours for the role.
