At Random42, we have been continuing to grow and expand our talented team. This growth has seen many positive impacts, allowing us to build a skilled team that brings together different ideas and experiences to boost innovation, performance, and creativity.

There are many new faces since our previous new starter article, and we are excited to introduce you to our brilliant new employees, who have joined our company over the past eight months, by sharing a little about each of them.

Introducing the newest starters to our team…

Beatriz Sanchez Pintado – Scientific Account Executive

BSc in Biochemistry – Universidad Autonoma de Madrid
MSc in Neuroscience and Translational Medicine – Queen Mary University of London
PhD in Ophthalmology – University College London

Random42 Beatriz Sanchez Pintado

After completing her BSc in Biochemistry and an MSc in Neuroscience and translational medicine, Beatriz was awarded a PhD in Ophthalmology for her research in modelling and drug development for inherited corneal dystrophies. Her experience in academic research extends beyond her PhD, and she has worked in stem cell-based disease model development for a diversity of inherited ocular conditions. In parallel to her science career, Beatriz has trained in Musical Theatre and worked as a director and choreographer. At Random42, she is part of the science team and will be merging her scientific knowledge and creativity to develop scripts and storyboard designs for medical videos. Outside of work, you will find her happy while exercising, reading, and exploring new restaurants.

Joanna Hare – Account Manager

Random42 Joanna Hare

Joanna studied Biomedical Sciences at University, then completed her master’s in Psychology of Mental Health in Edinburgh, with her empirical research focusing on the link between social media trends and the development of eating disorders. Since graduating, she has gained sales experience in business and customer-facing settings. This, along with her keen interest in science, has provided an excellent foundation for a career in medical communications. As an account manager at Random42, Joanna is responsible for maintaining relationships with existing clients within the top 25 global pharmaceutical companies and attracting new clientele. Outside of work, you’ll find Joanna exploring the best pubs London has to offer and going to as many gigs as she can.

Antonio Messina – Junior 3D Generalist

Random42 Antonio Messina

After graduating from high school as a graphic designer Antonio learned about 3D thanks to a friend who was practicing it. Antonio then started studying it by himself, watching videos and online lessons. His passion for 3D grew and he wanted to pursue it as a job. This led Antonio to move to London where he started working for Random42 where he is expanding his experiences with the help of his colleagues. Antonio’s other interests are playing video games, watching movies, listening to music, and Breakdance.

Olivia Crossman – Account Executive

BSc Biological Sciences with Management – Imperial College London

Random42 Olivia Crossman

Olivia attended the University of the Arts London to complete a foundation in Fine Art before going on to study Biological Sciences with Management at Imperial College London. After graduating, she worked in the exciting start-up world before joining Random42, a company that combines both her passion for creativity and the sciences. Her role as an Account Executive involves attracting new clients as well as creating and maintaining strong relationships with external agencies that focus on science communication. Beyond work, Olivia enjoys spending time with friends, playing sports, visiting galleries, and continuing to create her own artwork.

Martin Ivanov – Junior 3D Generalist

BA (Hons) Graphic Design – Coventry University

Growing up playing games, Martin developed an interest in technology and computer graphics, which pushed him to self-study 3D in his teens. After spending nearly a decade developing his skill as a generalist and completing his university degree, Martin worked as a freelancer for three years, working on a variety of projects before joining Random42. Outside of work, his interests include automotive CG, sim racing, anime, dramas, music, technology, photography, and spending time with friends.

Nanna Lund – Mid 3D Generalist

BA (Hons) Computer Visualisation and Animation  – Bournemouth University

Random42 Nanna Lund

Nanna studied Computer Visualisation and Animation at the NCCA at Bournemouth University. Since graduating in 2019, Nanna has worked as a lighter and compositor at Blue-Zoo and Brown Bag Films. As a Mid 3D Generalist at Random42, she collaborates with and supports the Art Directors and other artists in creating striking medical visuals. Outside of work, Nanna enjoys knitting/crocheting, watching anime and thriller shows, thrift-shopping, and not engaging in team sports.

Lydia Folds – Account Executive

BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science – University of Birmingham

Random42 Lydia Folds

Lydia graduated from the University of Birmingham after completing a degree in Biomedical Science. In her final year at University, Lydia specialised in the area of reproductive medicine and completed her dissertation on the process of endometrial decidualisation. At Random42, Lydia is responsible for relationships with new and existing pharmaceutical companies as well as devices and diagnostics, consumer health, and animal health. Outside of work, Lydia enjoys spending time with friends, playing netball, and exploring new places.

Buvani Murugesan – Junior Project Manager

BSc Biology – University of York
MSc Cancer Biology – Queen Mary University of London

Random42 Buvani Murugesan

Buvani completed her BSc in Biology at the University of York and later pursued an MSc in Cancer Biology at QMUL. Before joining Random42, she worked in academic publishing at Elsevier as an Editorial Section Manager for Heliyon. At Random42, Buvani’s role includes managing multiple projects with the internal scientific and production teams, as well as acting as a client liaison. Outside of work, Buvani likes bouldering, dogs, and going out with friends.

Daria Pankeeva – Junior 3D Generalist

BA (Hons) Animation – University of the Arts London
MA 3D Computer Animation – Bournemouth University

Random42 Daria Pankeeva

Daria graduated from the University of the Arts London with a degree in Animation and from Bournemouth University with a Master’s degree in 3D animation. Before joining Random42 she worked as a 2D animator and CG artist in animation and VFX for films. Daria brings this previous experience to her current role as a 3D Generalist. Outside of work, her interests include animated filmmaking, art, tennis, and windsurfing.

Eli Bowes – Mid 3D Generalist

BA (Hons) Illustration – University of Brighton

Random42 Eli Bowes

Eli graduated from Brighton University with a degree in Illustration. Since then, he has worked in the events sector as an animator creating large-scale projection mapping shows, architectural visualisation, book illustrations, video game assets, and motion graphics. In his spare time, he keeps busy with traditional drafting, silk screen printing, etching, archery, and searching for ever more unusual crisp flavours.

Ermelinde Sumata – Project Edit Administrator

BSc (Hons) Management with Entrepreneurship – Goldsmiths, University of London

Random42 Ermelinde Sumata

Ermelinde studied Business Management with Entrepreneurship at Goldsmiths. Since studying, she has gained over six years of experience in the events and wedding industry, managing events for both the wedding and corporate sectors. Ermelinde loved the managing events aspect of her previous roles and jumped at the opportunity to work within scientific communications. At Random42, she helps manage some key processes from start to finish, liaising with clients and the science and creative teams, managing language translations and voiceover talents. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, reading books, and going out with friends.
