The Merck Manuals
Scientific Animation
The Merck Manuals were first published in 1899 as a small reference book for physicians and pharmacists. The Manual grew in size and scope to become one of the world’s most widely used comprehensive medical resources for professionals and consumers. As the Manual evolved, Merck realized the need to modernize the approach in order to engage their target audience.
our approach
To support the current assets, a series of 17 educational, biological animations were developed for the Merck Manuals Consumer website and YouTube Channel. The animations covered a variety of medical topics and were aimed at a target market of consumers with limited previous knowledge of the areas covered. With this target audience in mind, the messages were kept clear, concise, and easy to understand.
The featured video is the ‘Introduction to the Human Body’ Animation which forms part of the Merck Manuals Series. You can view the other 16 animations on Merck Manuals YouTube Channel.
The ‘Intro to the Human Body’ animation has over 27,000 views and the complete collection of 17 videos has over 30,000 views on YouTube alone.
