Student Interns 2018

29th June 2018 Company News

We are extremely pleased to welcome three exceptional student interns to the Random42 team this summer!

Our student interns are vital contributors to Random42 and we like to fully immerse them in our culture of creativity and innovation. Here at Random42 our interns have the opportunity to be involved in the daily workings of an award winning scientific communication studio, interact with high level company leaders, and most importantly gain skills, experience and relationships that can help them to pursue their future goals.

We would like to welcome Caity, Aidan and Lisa, who are hard at work in our Marketing Department. Find out more about each of them below…

Random42 Summer Interns

I am currently undertaking an internship over the summer within the marketing department and will then return to finish my degree at the University of Birmingham. I’m currently studying biomedical science and already the internship has expanded my knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and has touched on many things I have studied during my degree. I am really enjoying working in London and gaining lots of new knowledge, teaching me more about possible career options and learning skills that will be helpful in the future. Outside of my degree, I enjoy playing lacrosse, going to the gym and hanging out with my friends.

Caity Patrick

As a recent BSc Biochemistry graduate, gaining experience within a scientific communications company, such as Random42, is invaluable. It is particularly interesting exploring the various strategies used to develop new leads within an array of markets, ranging from big pharma companies to small biotech companies. Towards the end of my degree, there was a particular focus around the medical relevance of signalling pathways and pharmacological targeting. This internship allows me to research the progression and developments of drugs within the R&D and clinical trial pipeline, taking the interests developed from my degree further. The Random42 office has an excellent location and currently has unbelievable World Cup decorations put up by Lucy and myself!

AIDAN GASTALDI-DAVIES

I have recently completed my fourth year at Heriot Watt University, in Edinburgh, where I study Chemistry with Pharmaceutical Chemistry (MChem). Working for Random42 this summer has really opened my mind to a future in science outside of a lab. Not only has it increased my awareness of the Pharmaceutical Industry, but I have also gained some invaluable experience with the marketing team. Moving from Edinburgh to London for the summer was somewhat daunting, but the welcome I have received from every person here at Random42 has made me feel like a valuable team member and I am excited so see what this adventure will bring!
