Stress and the Immune System Animation
Scientific Animation | Industry Conference
Immuno-autonomics is the idea that stress, managed by the brain’s autonomic nervous system (ANS), can drive immune activity and limit successful treatment. A deeper understanding of this complex system may offer new opportunities for the treatment of patients with autoimmune diseases.
our approach
The animation highlights the complex relationship between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, and how the brain can regulate inflammatory activity via the parasympathetic vagus nerve.
This animation was created for Inmedix and presented at the 2018 Annual Meeting of the American College of Rheumatology.
‘‘Inmedix is pleased to highlight the cholinergic anti-inflammatory reflex in video format to encourage a broader recognition of potential immuno-autonomic clinical applications to improve the lives of patients with rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases.’’
