Random42 Summer Interns 2017
We are extremely pleased to welcome four exceptional student interns to Random42 this Summer! Interns are vital contributors to Random42 and we like to fully immerse them in our culture of creativity and innovation. Here at Random42 our interns have the opportunity to be involved in the daily workings of an award winning scientific communication studio, interact with top company leaders, and most importantly gain skills, experience and relationships that can help them to pursue their future goals.
This summer we have three student interns hard at work in our marketing department and one getting stuck in with our creative team. We would like to welcome them all to the company and you can find out a bit more about each of them below…
Ferdinand Tahaibaly
“I was born in Angers in the west of France, but lived for 13 years in Reunion island, a French island in the Indian ocean. I moved back to the north of France to study at the animation school, Supinfocom Rubika, in which I have just finished my third year. I discovered the existence of Random42 after a visit from the team to the school, where I immediately fell in love with the studio’s work. I saw the opportunity to bind my interest in science and making beautiful images. Curious by nature, I love to learn new things and skills, which is why travelling abroad is important to me. I’m particularly passionate about making music, and my ideal future would be to combine all the arts I love, maybe as a film director; or maybe learning all the jobs possible on earth!”
Erin Hawker
“I currently study a BSc in Chemistry with Management, at the University of Bath. I am aiming to gain an MSc in Management after graduation, to combine my interest in chemistry focusing on reaction pathways and business management. At Random42, I am hoping to not only build vital experience for a graduate job but more specifically gain an insight into the world of pharmaceuticals, to help me pursue a career in pharmaceutical finance. I am enjoying working in the heart of London and outside of this I love to travel, figure skate and ski and would love to become a ski instructor one day.”
Samuel Downes
“I am currently interning in the marketing department before moving into my third year at the University of Exeter – where I study Biology and will be undertaking a project with the Eden project to save bananas from fungal annihilation. I am enjoying my role as intern, expanding my knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and securing vital experience necessary to kickstart a successful career in marketing and business development. Outside work I love spontaneous trips to European cities, with Copenhagen next on my list. I also enjoy rock climbing, swimming and a good Louis Theroux documentary.”
William Hopper
“I graduated from UCL in Biochemistry in 2016 and took a year out with the goal of gaining some first-hand experience working in a non-academic environment. Before joining Random42 over Easter I was teaching for a company that provides workshops, demonstrations and science clubs for primary school aged children, something which turned out to be equal parts chaos and fun. Following my internship I will be returning to UCL to study for a two year masters in Brain and Mind Sciences which involves one year in London and one year in Paris so outside of work I am learning French as well as developing a palate for cheese and wine!”
If you are interested in working with us please consult our jobs page. We normally recruit for student interns for the Easter and Summer periods.
