Shine Night Walk 2023 | Random42 Fundraising in Aid of CRUK

10th October 2023 Charity News Company News

Last month, members of our Random42 team participated in Cancer Research UK’s Shine Night Walk.

The Shine Night Walk is an annual night-time fundraising event, which takes place across the UK, in support of beating cancer. Participants had the choice of walking either a 10km, a half marathon, or a full marathon, through the iconic streets of London. The aim of this event is to walk in solidarity to support those whose lives have been touched by cancer.

This event was organized by our dedicated charity partner Cancer Research UK (CRUK). By joining forces, we were able to raise awareness and contribute to CRUK’s life-saving research efforts.

We are extremely proud of those in our team who participated in the event, helping raise vital funds for such a worthy cause. Every contribution counts and we were able to raise an astounding £925… and counting!

“My experience with the walk is that it was much bigger than I expected – the social stigma around cancer and putting up a strong front is still rampant so it was inspiring to see the sheer scale of people willing to be vulnerable and show how their lives had been affected by the disease.”

“I did the half marathon. This was my first charity walk, don’t normally do fundraising but the experience was fab. The evening had lots of positive energy. There was music, lights and DJs and stuff. The walk was a chatty situation. My favourite thing about it was the comradery and positive atmosphere on the team.”

David Ball, Lead Unity Developer

“The half marathon walk was really good, the company on said walk was brilliant, saw lots of landmarks, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace.”

Liz Peach, Lead Artist & Internal Communications Manager

This was a truly memorable and meaningful event and Random42 plans to attend many more in the future.
