Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) Animation
Scientific Animation
Random42 produced this Mechanism of Disease (MoD) animation for Pfizer to take a closer look at Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH, formerly known as nonalcoholic steatohepatitis or NASH).
our approach
MASH is liver inflammation and damage caused by an excess build-up of fat in the liver. It is the most severe form of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD, formerly known as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease or NAFLD) and has links with obesity, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, or a genetic predisposition.
MASH is an unfamiliar disease to many patients and can be initially unrecognized by physicians. Pfizer is committed to advancing the understanding and treatment of this disease, with this animation adding to the efforts of understanding the science of MASH through visually engaging scientific storytelling.
This animation is hosted on the Pfizer website as a featured News segment, ‘A Closer Look at NASH’.
