Anika Therapeutics manufactures products that help protect, heal, and regenerate the damaged tissue found in wounds, burns, and severe ulcers. The products are based on hyaluronic acid (HA) which is naturally present in the skin and plays a major role in tissue, cartilage, and connective tissue repair, as well as functioning as a lubricant and component of the extracellular matrix.
Random42 created an animation that shows how Anika Therapeutics’ have adapted HA to create HYAFF® – a HA-based material that can be made into 3D scaffolds to support the entrapment, proliferation and differentiation of cells into functional skin, cartilage and bone tissue.
The animation appeared on the Anika Therapeutics website, where it provided a clear and engaging background to the propriety technology behind their products.
