Histotripsy is a non-invasive sonic beam therapy for the treatment of tumors. Aimed at patients and healthcare professionals (HCPs), this educational scientific animation was created following the post-product launch to explain the mechanism of action (MoA) behind this technology to key stakeholders.

High-quality 3D visuals depict the destruction of tissue at a cellular and sub-cellular level by using pulsed sound waves to induce bubble clouds in the targeted tissue.

The animation also highlights the precise nature of the treatment and how it avoids damage to non-targeted tissue and preserving antigenic material. The work also introduced the Edison® System, a platform for image-guided sonic beam therapy developed by HistoSonics.

The animation is prominently featured on the histosonics.com homepage, allowing visitors to gain a deeper insight into the platform. Furthermore, it has been used in a company news article, ‘Bubbles Have Never Been More Powerful: Histotripsy’s Novel Mechanism Of Action In Destroying Targeted Tissues’, which has been shared on the Histosonics’ LinkedIn channel.

Imagery from the animation also forms part of the Cision PR Newswire press release article announcing Phase I trial results.
